Boy by Roald Dahl

This book is an easy read that focuses on Roald Dahl's boyhood and his continued opposition to authority.  It is includes great background on why Roald Dahl included mean teachers and horrible headmasters in his stories.  There are insights into how he got his ideas for Charlie and The Chocolate Factory and some of his other famous books.  I really liked it!

Rebecca Caudill

Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

From the very first page there is nothing but action.Katniss is a strong character determined to survive the games at all costs, in the beginning. As her relationship with Petra grows, she begins to see things differently. Hunger Games was the winner of Hadley's Rebecca Caudill voting.
